JP Nagar, Bangalore

JP Nagar, short for Jaya Prakash Nagar, is one of South Bangalore's most established residential belts. Named after the leader Jayaprakash Narayan, the layout was developed by the Bangalore Development Authority in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a planned southward extension of Jayanagar. Today the locality spans nine numbered phases across a large planned layout, with wide roads, mature tree cover, and decades-old social infrastructure already in place.
